By KTM Metro Reporter
March 1, 2011: the Nepalese embassy in Washington, DC, yesterday in a statement has stated that the U.S. Congress has set up a bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Nepal, co-chaired by Reps. Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) and Jared Polis (D-CO).
The Nepalese embassy has said that the caucus could help Nepal in consolidating democracy institutionalizing the rule of law, and it could be a forum for promoting and strengthening relations between the U.S. and Nepal, for better understanding of the people of the two countries, and discussing the global and regional problems.
The statement said, “The Congressional Caucus is a group of Congress members who share common interests and goals on Nepal. The members of the caucus are supposed to meet as and when necessary to discuss issues of interest and to direct actions which will help strengthen the relations between the USA and Nepal.”
