issue 39, September 25, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 22, 2011: current leadership of the Nepali Congress (NC) has dissolved the working committees of four sister organizations such as 1) Nepal Trun Dal, 2) Nepal Women’s Organization, 3) Nepal Prajatantrik Senai, and 4) Nepal Ethic And Indigenous Organization stating their terms of offices have been expired.

The NC is holding the general assembly convention. Representatives of these sister organizations form the constituent of the general assembly. So, the current President Sushil Koirala and General Secretaries Prakashman Sing and Ramchandra Poudel have purposely dissolved the working committees of these sister organizations, as most of the members of the working committees of these organizations are supporters of the Deuba faction of the NC.

Supporters of the Deuba factions have been fighting against the ending of the working committees. Some of the members of Tarun Dal have been going on hunger strike demanding annulling of the decision of the current leadership of the NC on dissolving the working committees of sister organizations.

Supporters of the current leadership of the NC also have been going on hunger strike demanding not to annul the decision on dissolving the working committees of the sister organizations.

Leaders such as Ganeshman Singh and his colleagues have had many differences among themselves but they had never fought against the decisions of the party leadership. Once, the party leadership made decisions they simply followed the decisions.
