Students And The Government Head-on Collision

Issue 04, January 22, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

January 21, 2012: Students have been protesting the rise in the prices of the petroleum products stating it has hit the poor hard, and have said that they would continue to protest against it until the government revokes the price rise in the petroleum products. The students’ protests against anything has been in the interest of the political parties. They have been the tools of the political parties to weaken the government and even topple it in the past.

The government has said that it would not roll back the rise in the petroleum products as the international price of crude oil has reached US$ 112 and the value of dollar has reached a peak too in comparison to the Nepalese rupees, and also the prices of petroleum products in India have been higher than in Nepal making the government of Nepal have no choice but to increase the prices of the petroleum products to make the smooth supply of petroleum products possible.
