Communal riots In Muzaffarnagar In India

Issue 37, September 15, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 9, 2013: Hindus and Muslims clashed against each other killing 28 people so far in Muzaffarnagar. Indian army has been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control and to cool down the Hindu-Muslim heated tension.

To provoke Hindu-Muslim communal tension, some unscrupulous people have revived the issue of a Hindu woman molested by some Muslims youths while she was on the way to offer holy water and flowers to a deity, and Hindus youths fighting with them in August.

Former chief Minister of U.P. Mayavati has demanded to impose a presidential rule in the U.P., and dismissed the current State government for its inability to maintain the communal harmony, according to the Indian media.
