Prime Minister And A New Communist Party In Nepal

June 29, 2012: talking to the representatives of civil society, youths and the Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai yesterday urged the leaders of civil society, youth leaders of different political parties and entrepreneurs to play a positive role in resolving the current national crisis; he told them that he was ready for a political consensus, and had not given importance to the office of prime minister but the political parties should set aside differences and come forward for consensus that was a demand of the time, and he had announced fresh election to a new CA after the dissolution of the CA following the ruling of the Supreme Court, as no alternative to announcing new election was left, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

CPN-Maoist: the new communist party headed by Mohan Vaidhya Kiran has made work division of the office holders after the three-day central committee (CC) meeting. Mohan Vaidhya Kiran upgraded himself to the Chairman of the new party. He made a 13-member Politburo and a 45-member CC as of the mother party. CP Gajurel became the vice-chairman, Ram Bahadur Thapa the general secretary, Dev Gurung and Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplov’ as the secretaries of the new party. Pampha Bhusal got the office of the spokesperson for the party along with responsibility of publicity bureau, according to ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today.
