Nepal Police Leak out Confidential Information Of Home Ministry

Issue 27, July 03, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

June 29, 2011: the Nepal Police headquarters in Kathmandu have leaked out information about the ministry’s move to mobilize anti-corruption teams to carry out surprise checks on suspicious police units; the Home Ministry is going to take actions against it according to the news posted on Thehimalayantimes.com.

The Nepal Police Headquarters have circulated the message to all its units including regional offices asking them to stay on alert and shun dealings in money; the regional offices in turn have passed down the message to the district levels and then the grassroots levels according to the news report.

Then, the Nepal Police have removed a dozen checkpoints set up by the police in the highways to collect unauthorized tolls yesterday after the tip off from their respective command centers. If this news is true then shame on the law enforcement officials, as the whole network of the Nepal Police seem to involve in perpetrating illegal activities. What Nepalis could anticipate from such law enforcement officials when they have been the perpetrators of violence of laws?
