Nepali Congress Leaders Not happy with Sujata

issue 34, August 23, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On August 19, 2009, in the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee meeting, central committee members have drawn the attention of President Girija Prasad Koirala to the reason for Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala dropping out of the Prime Ministerial team to visit India and to her demand for the Deputy Prime Minister without informing the party according to the State-run newspaper “Gorkhapatra’ of August 20, 2009. However, Acting President Sushil Koirala has informed the meeting that Sujata Koirala could not join the Madhav Nepal’s team for the health reason. Central committee members have said that Sujata Koirala’s failure in joining the Prime Minister’s team should not affect the coalition government, and they also have demanded explanations from Sujata Koirala for bargaining for the position of the Deputy Prime Minister without the consent of the party.
