Public Private Partnership In Eradicating Illiteracy

October 1, 2013: the government of Nepal and the Lions Club have jointly started an illiteracy eradication program across the nation, according to the news on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

 

Lions Club International District 325 A 2 and Informal Education Centre (IEC) will jointly run the literacy program until 2015. An interaction program focusing on the modalities of the literacy campaign was held between the two institutions recently.

 

At the interaction, Lions Club District 325 A 2 President Shambhu Ghimire said that the Lions Club wanted to extend its assistance to the government in the social sector and also during its program to eradicate illiteracy from the nation with an objective of disseminating the message about the Lions Club's strong presence in the nation's social sector.

 

IEC director Babu Ram Paudel expressed his confidence that the cooperation of Lions Club on the significant field of eradicating illiteracy would be beneficial to the nation.

 

The Lions Club International ID Endorsee Sanjay Khetan said that the literacy campaign would help make strong contribution to the promotion of the education sector.
