Four Crook Politicians Watch Horse Show At Tundikhel

Issue 12, March 21, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

March 17, 2010: President, Vice-president, Prime Minister and Speaker watched the traditional horse-show at Tundikhel on March 15, 2010. These four guys are the perpetrators of breaching the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 and the democratic norms and values in Nepal.

President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav abused the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 directly writing a letter to the then Army Chief and has been responsible for breaking the democratic values and norms and bringing the current political chaos.

At the oath-taking ceremony, Vice-president Permananda Jha deliberately violated the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 taking the oath of office of Vice-president in Hindi while the President gave him in Nepali.

The Supreme Court of Nepal ruled that the Vice-president either take the oath of office again in Nepali or face suspension. Mr. Jha opted for suspension and has remained suspended until the legislature passed an amendment bill for making the provision for taking an oath of office in any Nepalese languages in other words in the mother language of the concerned person. Mr. Jha took again the oath of office in Maithili: his mother tongue.

The Supreme Court of Nepal needed to act on the President for violating the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 as quickly as it acted on the case of the Vice-president to break the current political deadlock and save the country from the worst possible political chaos. However, the Supreme Court of Nepal has held the hearing on the case of the President’s undemocratic action only once.

Prime Minister Madhav Nepal is freaky. He has lost the elections for the seat in the legislature at two constituencies but he has successfully proved the elected personalities such as former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal and Ram Chandra Poudel incompetent for the position of Prime Minister. All of these three guys are the contenders for the position of Prime Minister.

Speaker Subash Nemwang has been the poor political pawn of the unscrupulous politicians. As a practitioner of law, he knows that following the democratic norms and values he needs to allow the debate over the President’s undemocratic action on directly writing a letter to the then army chief at the legislature but under the pressure of the so many dishonest politicians he gave in to them and did not allow the debate over the presidential democratic action causing the current political deadlock and looming political chaos in the coming days.
