By KTM Metro Reporter

November 26, 201: A sixteen-day campaign for ending the violence against women has begun in Nepal yesterday. A rally was held yesterday morning in which human rights organizations participated, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

The participants in the campaign marched from the premises of National Women's Commission, Bhadrakali, and ended at Basantapur after going through Putalisadak, Padmakanya College and New Road.

Speaking at the rally, member of the National Women's Commission Mohana Ansari said that increased violence against women and failure to get justice by the victims have caused worries to those working in the sector of women rights at a time when the government also was committed to ending violence against women.

The 16-day campaign has been launched from November 25 to December 10 symbolically every year for the past 22 years across the world to adopt the concept that gender-based violence is violation of human rights, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
