Promoted Secretaries

On July 24, 2009, the Cabinet has decided to promote twenty-four joint secretaries to the secretaries and Secretary Mr. Madhav Ghimire to the Chief Secretary, and transfer Secretary Umeshkumar Mainali to the office of the President. According to the names listed in the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of July 25, 2009, the promoted twenty-four secretaries are Dinesh Hari Adhikari, Yubaraj Bhusal, Deep Basnet, Sriram Pant, Keshav Prasad Bhattarai, Pratap Kumar Pathak, Madan Bhattarai, Niranjan Baral, Sushil Ghimire, Navin Kumar Ghimire, Krishna Gywali, Rudra Kumar Shrestha, Kishore Thapa, Krishna Hari Banskota, Modraj Dotel, Binode Gyawali, Dhruba Prasad Sharma, Yagya Prasad Gautam, Nathu Prasad Chaudhary, Ram Swarup Sinha, Ganesh Raj Joshi, Nagendra Prasad Ghimire, Dr. Shudha Sharma and Prabin Mishra.
The Cabinet also has decided to recommend Sushil Chandra Amatya for the ambassador to Sri Lanka. Mr. Amatya has vacated his seat in the parliament for Madhav Nepal defeated in two constituencies to get a seat in the parliament ultimately paving the way for Madhav Nepal to be a Prime Minister.
