More Than Million People Leaving Kathmandu For Home

October 7, 2013: some 700,000 passengers have already left the Kathmandu Valley for their homes for celebrating the Dashain festival with their family members from the exit points such as Kalanki, Balkhu, Koteswor and Machhapokhari since September 17, said General Secretary of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs National Federation Dolnath Khanal, according to the RSS news posted on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
Federation General Secretary Khanal has said that 500,000 more passengers have booked the tickets for going homes until October 10 of the Dashain festival. More vehicles will be added as per the need after Phulpati day in view of the passenger pressure; the buses not in queue will also be used, said the Federation.
Some 1.3 million to 1.4 million people are to leave Kathmandu for their homes for the festival this year.
The Federation has brought into operation some 500 deluxe and 100 air-conditioned super deluxe buses for the comfort of the general and high-class passengers in addition to the regular buses. Passengers pay 20 percent more for deluxe and 40 percent for super deluxe.
