The expenditure of the development budget reached NPR 161.97 billion by the mid June 2018 (Jestha masant 2075); however, the government spent NPR 105.29 billion from mid-June to mid-July 2018 (Asar masant 2075). The total development expenditure has been almost 80 percent of the development budget, the news in the “artha bazaar” of “gorkhapatra” stated on July 18, 2018.
Anybody could guess how much money has been wasted spending every possible rupee in the last days of the fiscal year 2017 (2074) asphalting the mud nationwide. Probably, asphalting mud is the criminal act the Oli government has permitted the contractors, the civil service officials and the concerned ministers in the cabinet of Prime Minister Oli.
However, the main opposition NC leaders did not speak out against such huge irregularities in running the development projects even though it has strongly objected to other minor 17 issues of the Oli government, and are preparing for the political showdown indicating the opposition must have share in the development expenditure.
