Violence By So-called Journalists In Nepal
By KTM Metro Reporter
September 13, 2012: if so-called students and political cadres could resort to violence why not the journalists. So, some journalists have engaged in violence at the wrong place and wrong time.
A team of journalists led by Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) central committee member Mahesh Das had carried out vandalism in the compound of the Parsa District Court on September 10 protesting against the ruling of the district court thinking they could bully the law court as they have been doing to the common folks but the court is court; it has the power and authority.
The Parsa District Court yesterday issued arrest warrants to 13 journalists including one central committee member of the FNJ charging them the contempt of court according to the state-owned news agency RSS reports.
The court has issued arrest warrants to Mahesh Das, FNJ Parsa District Chapter advisor Krishna Chandra Lamichhane, president of Press Chautari- Parsa Shyam Banjara, FNJ member Govinda Devkota and Shreeram Rayamajhi, among others, according to nepalnews.com.
