Two Indian Students Among The Dead In Suspension Bridge Collapse

October 23, 2011:  two Indian students are among the victims of the collapse of the suspension bridge in Nepal. A group of graduate students is in Nepal for the educational tour. They are on the way to Phisling village from Chitwan. They are enjoying the flow of the river below the suspension bridge.

More than 40 persons are on the suspension bridge for taking pictures and see the river flowing. One of the pillars holding the suspension bridge collapsed causing breakdown of the bridge and bringing the people down to the river. One of the Indian students is drowned and another is swept away by the swift current of the river. Many people are injured and some of them are seriously according to the local media and the Indian media.

The collapsed suspension needed repair and maintenance but the bridge could not hold on the number of people standing on the bridge. So, the bridge collapsed causing the loss of lives and injury to some people.
