More than 10,000 volunteers from 16 countries had made a joint contribution to create the world largest Buddha painting. The painting depicts 12 important events happened in the life of the Lord Gautam Buddha. The painting is made of 81 pieces and weighs 100 kg, and it takes around two hours to put all the pieces together.
The painting has been put to display at exhibitions in USA, Japan, Mongolia and India, and will be put to display in Thailand next year.
The objective of putting the painting on display is to spread the message of peace, fraternity and hospitality in the world that has been witnessing violence and religious intolerance.
Initially, the painting was made to house it in Lumbini, Nepal, but the current infrastructure available is not sufficient to hold the painting there. So, the painting will be housed in Japan, according to RSS/thehimalayantimes.com.
