Achievements Of PM Oli’s India Visit

KTM Reporter

April 8, 2018

Kathmandu: Today, Prime Minister Oli earns the PhD in agriculture without doing any research work in other words Oli is receiving an honorary degree from the “Govinda Ballav  Panta Agriculture and Technology University”, Uttarakhanda..

Prime Minister Oli has been successful at least to have joint press conferences on holding feasibility studies on the railroads, waterways, and in agriculture with the assistance of India. Probably, all these things would be done because all these are only studies nothing otherwise the history has been that India commits to assistances and Nepal accepts them during the prime ministerial visit but nothing happens thereafter.

India would conduct the feasibility study on the railroads from Raxual in India to Kathmandu: capital of Nepal, and on linking Nepal with the waterways, and India will provide Nepal with assistance in conducting research in agriculture. PM Oli accepted it even though Nepal has already developed the capacity of conducting researches in agriculture, and Nepal has currently sufficient scientists for doing so.

Prime Minister Oli and Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly launched the construction of the petroleum pipeline from Motihari in India to Amlekhgunj in Nepal 69 km instead of launching the construction of Arun-III hydropower project with 900 MW power producing capacity as publicly stated. It could not happen because of a technical problem.

Prime Minister Oli and Prime Minister Modi also jointly inaugurated the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at the Birgunj dry port. It was built with the Indian assistance.
