Nepal-India Trade Could Scale Up To $10 bn By 2017

July 5, 2012: speaking at the seminar held by Confederation of Indian Industry in Kolkata, India today, acting Nepalese Ambassador K.N. Adhikari said that the trade between Nepal and India could climb up to $10 billion during the next five years, according to the news posted on India.nydailynews.com.

"Our trade with India has shown good growth. Nepal has great investment potential in sectors such as hydropower, tourism and exotic agricultural products" acting Ambassador K.N. Adhikari said at the seminar.

The bilateral trade stood at around $3 billion in the FY 2011 on March 31. Ambassador Adhikari said that Nepal was preparing the outline for 50 viable projects for investments and it has formed a special board to attract foreign investments in the country.
