Doleshwor Mahadev: Head Of Kedarnath

May 14, 2013: speaking at the especial event held in the compound of Doleshwor Mahadev yesterday on the occasion of the Akshaya Tritiya, Secretary of the office of the Prime Minister’s office Krishna Hari Baskota has said that the area of the Doleshwor Mahadev should be developed for the internal religious tourism preparing and implementing a comprehensive action plan, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

He has said that he has already drawn the attention of the concerned agencies to the need for repairing and maintaining the temple, for developing the roads in the temple area, drinking water, conserving the river and controlling landslide, and preserving the archaeological objects.

 

He said that the temple of Doleshwor Mahadev must have been built in the 12th or 13th century, and the then King Bhupatindra Malla had renovated the temple in 1629 B.S.

 

On Bhadra 6, 2066 (August 22, 2009), Jagatguru Bhimashankar Linga Shivaacharya Mahaswami had declared with the proof that Doleshwor Mahadev is the head of Kedarnath.

 

Chairman of the Head of Kedarnath: Doleshwor Mahadev Conservation and Development Committee Bidur Man Singh Basnet has put emphasis on the need for implementing the Doleshwor Mahadev Master Plan. He said that devotees have committed the assistance of Rs 55 million during the Mahayagya held in the past. He also has said that Rs 30,000 per month has been saved from the offerings made by the devotees after the transparency of the revenue of the temples is made.
