December 13, 2012: President of NC Sushil Koirala said that they could build a consensus if the chairman of the UCPN-Maoist was loyal to the political parties but he did not elaborate what about his royalty to the parties and the nation, and his commitment to the elections, whether his party would trade its democracy for the office of a prime minister.

Speaking at the 13th-day-death rites of NC leader late Bhim Bahadur Tamang at Jhule, President of the NC Sushil Koirala has said that he believes the parties would build a consensus within three days if the Chairman of UCPN-M Prachanda were to show his loyalty to the parties, according to the THT ONLINE news. However, President Koirala failed to say why his party was not for trading its democracy for the office of a prime minister.

President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav today extended the deadline for five days for building a consensus among the political parties a common candidate for a new prime minister. This is the third time the president has extended the deadline after the leaders of UCPN-Maoist, NC, CPN-UML, and UDMF went to the president’s residence and pleaded him for extending the deadline once more.

Speaking at an interaction event held at the Reporters Club in Kathmandu today, Prime Minister’s chief press advisor Devendra Poudel said that if the parties were to fail in reaching an agreement on a common candidate for a new prime minister and form a consensus government in five days the president has extended then the current government would hold the fresh polls to elect a new CA, according to THT ONLINE news.

“There are rumors that the president is trying to become active and grab power,” President Yadav said while addressing an event held to mark the diamond jubilee celebration of Harihar Higher Secondary School in Arghakachi district yesterday, “I don’t see any reason to be afraid of a Jogi (ascetic) who used to herd buffalos in the past. I am the protector of the constitution and I will work as per the mandate handed to me. I will never cross my limits,” writes nepalnews.com today
