December 14, 2010: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has called a House session starting on December 19, 2010 following the request memo with the signatures of 187 legislators submitted to the president following the Article 51 (3) of the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 that has the provision for calling a House session if one fourth of the parliamentarian request the president then the president has to call a House session within 15 days.
Legislators of eight political parties led by Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist Narayankaji Shrestha has submitted a memo with the signatures of legislators to the office of the president on December 12, 2010.
Officiating Prime Minster Madhav Nepal has advised the President not to call a House session for the obvious reason on December 13, 2010. After the parliament sits for a session, the first thing the legislators will do is to elect a new prime minister kicking Madhav Nepal out of the office. He has blocked the House session tricking the president to discontinue the house session and then not recommending the president to call a House session. He has a bunch of unscrupulous lawyers that have advised him not to call a House session until May 28, 2011, then the term of the Constituent Assembly expires and Madhav can continue his office. So, he just ignored the call o f the leaders of NC and CPN-UML for calling a House session and went to Cambodia and Belgium at the cost of the nation, came back only on Sunday. Thus, the unelected man attempts on tricking everyone to make him a full-fledged prime minister without letting the parliament to elect a new prime minister.
President of NC Sushil Koirala has stated in public that he has the consent of Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda on supporting NC candidate Ram Chandra Poudel for prime minister in the parliamentary election, and then for the government led by the NC, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of December 13, 2010 writes. It is one of the correct options to take the country to the right direction completing the peace process and the writing of a new constitution breaking the blockade on these processes imposed by officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal.
