Nepal Oil Corporation Increases Price Of Gasoline To Rs 102

Issue 25, June 19, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

June 13, 2011:the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of gasoline from Rs. 97 to Rs. 102 per liter. Only three months ago, NOC has increased the price of gasoline by nine rupees making it Rs 97 per liter.

Rise in the price of gasoline has the chain-reaction effect on all the services and goods. Everybody running on gasoline has to pay Rs 5 more per liter of gasoline, now. Naturally, s/he will ask more from the customers for the same services and goods s/he provides after the price rise of gasoline. For example, Taxi drivers will immediately ask more money for the same distance they cover.

The state-run monopoly company has been doing more disservice than service to the customers because it does not improve its efficiency but puts any price rise in the international market on the shoulders of the customers.
