Fresh Polls To Elect A New CA Only Alternative

December 11, 2012: leaders of the major political parties believe that the fresh polls to elect a new CA are the only alternative to break the current political gridlock in the country but some political parties have threatened to boycott the elections held by the decision of the four major political forces.
Speaking at a press conference held by the Revolutionary Journalists Association at Tamghas today, spokeswoman for CPN-Maoist Pampa Bhusal warned of her party boycotting the fresh elections would be held by the three parties and UDMF, as the three major political parties along with the UDMF are pushing the country to uncertainty, according to THT ONLINE news. Spokeswoman Bhusal further clarified that her party would not join in the consensus government formed by the bigwigs including the UDMF.
Leaders of the UCPN-Maoist at the meeting held at the Lazimpat residence of Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist today concluded that the fresh Constituent Assembly elections should be held in April/May, and also decided that the party would be flexible to reach a consensus on the formation of a national unity government, according to THT ONLINE news.
Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar has clarified that he is not in the race for the unity government Prime Minister. “We are open to the leadership for the unity government, and I am not in the race for the post. We will select a new candidate to the PM post,” said DPM Gachhadar while speaking at a program held by the Reporters Club in Kathmandu today, according to THT ONLINE news.
Addressing a function held on the concluding day of the International Sculpture Workshop at Gumbadanda of Harnamadi-7 in Makwanpur district today, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai said that democracy would face a threat if an atmosphere conducive to elections by April/May was not created; so, political parties should be aware of the need for a national consensus, according to the RSS news.
