February 28, 2011: speaking at the first national assembly of Volunteer Group of Workers of All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF) at the Khanna Garment in Kathmandu, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that their work places would need to turn into barracks for the people’s revolt if the reactionary forces obstruct the peace process and the constitution writing, ‘Himalayan News Services’ reported yesterday.
“Probably people don’t believe us when we talk about revolt. But they will know once we produce results,” he said, “People had not believed when we were preparing for people’s war.” He has said that the dreams of the party and martyrs would not be realized without the workers capturing the state power according to the news report.
Prime Minister Khanal has not been able to form a new cabinet even after more than three weeks since he was elected to a new prime minister. Mr. Khanal has not been able to meet the spirit of the seven-point agreement according to the UCPN-Maoist leaders whereas the CPN-UML has charged the UCPN-Maoist leaders with tricking Khanal to sign the seven-point agreement and then trapping him in it. The NC leaders have been deadly against the coalition of the UCPN-Maoist and the CPN-UML even risking the failure in completing the peace process and the constitution writing and ultimately provoking the Maoists to the people’s revolt.
‘The Himalayan Times’ Online has reported today that the report on the study conducted by the US-based Carter Center has stated that the Young Communist League (YCL) affiliated to the UCPN-Maoist does not have the structure that fits into the definition of the word ‘paramilitary’.
