Prime Minister Visits Nepal Army Academy At Kharipati In Bhaktapur

February 27, 2013: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai yesterday visited the Nepal Army Academy at Kharipati in Bhaktapur, and inquired about the overall mechanism set for the army cadet training. The Academy is the only institution of the Nepal Army, which produces its cadet officers as Second Lieutenants. Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai also holding the portfolio of Defense inspected the Academy and inquired the progress achieved so far by the institution, said the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) of Nepal Army Headquarters, according to the Gorkhapatraonline.com news of today.

At the function, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Gaurav Sumsher JB Rana and other senior army officers briefed the Prime Minister about the functioning of the Academy.

In a press note, the DPR stated that Chief of Academy Brigadier General Binod Basnet briefed the Prime Minister about the overall functions and activities of the Academy, the code of the conduct the cadet officers need to follow, curriculum designed for the cadet course and physical infrastructure of the academy.

Prime Minister Bhattarai accompanied by Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun and Defense Secretary Tilak Ram Sharma inspected the dormitory of the cadet officers undergoing the training there.
