December 14, 2012: speaking at the opening ceremony of the Sambad Dabali at Anamnagar in Kathmandu today, Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya said that the political leaders have been focused on grabbing power rather than breaking the political deadlock; and said, "Consensus and agreement should be forged aiming to address the problems of women, madhesis, dalits, indigenous, peasants and workers, and issues of nationality," RSS quotes Vaidhya as saying.

Vice President of NC Ram Chandra Poudel has warned of unseating the incumbent government through street protests. “Opposition parties are compelled to struggle against the incumbent government as the Bhattarai-led government has refused to pave the way for consensuses through dialogues and negotiations,” said Poudel while speaking at a press conference held by Nepal Press Union, Chitwan Chapter in Narayangadh today morning, writes RSS/thehimalayantimes.com.

Vice-president of NC Ram Chandra Poudel today said that he was disappointed by the president’s indecisive nature. "At a meeting, the President said he would strongly ask the parties to agree on the consensus. When asked what he would do if consensus did not evolve, he didn't have an answer," writes nepalnews.com.

Speaking at the function held by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to mark its 18th anniversary today, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai said that he was ready to make sacrifices if parties were to arrive at a consensus to hold the elections in Baisakh (April-May); the parties must find a way out of the deadlock within a few days or weeks by reaching a "package agreement." "As the Prime Minister, I am ready to play necessary role [in building a consensus]. I have been repeatedly saying that I am ready to make a sacrifice to break the political deadlock and hold elections to a CA, as no alternative to the elections, according to the news posted on the nepalnews.com.
