Spokesperson for Ministry of Urban Development said that the Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has made final preparations for bringing deep 12 tube wells into operation at different places to mitigate the supply of drinking water in winter. Currently, KUKL supply water once a week. Almost every house with compound wall has a well or tube well for drawing underground water for daily uses.
The chances of completing the Rs. 35.28 billion Upper Tamakoshi hydropower project with the capacity of 456 MW are high, as the local people and other agencies have been cooperating with the project. The project is supposed to complete in April 2015. The project is entirely funded by the national resources, and it is designated as the national pride project, according to the news on ‘gorkhpatraonline.com.’ Of the total investment: the Employees Provident Fund contributed Rs. 10 billion, Nepal Telecom Rs 6 billion, and Citizen Investment Trust and Rastriya Bima Sansthan each Rs. 2 billion and the government would take care of the remaining portion of the resource requirements.
Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) has made a net profit of Rs. 1.03 billion during the nine months of current fiscal year 2069-70 BS (2012/2013). This is 55 per cent more than the profit of the corresponding period last year.
