Freed Haliyas Engage In Small Enterprises

December 14, 2013: the freed haliyas (bonded laborers) in the district have boosted their income through small enterprises these days. The freed haliyas said at an interaction held by National Freed Haliyas Society in Belauri of the Kanchapur district on Thursday that they were increasing their incomes through small enterprises, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’
“Haliyas have launched different types of small enterprises such as vegetable farming and furniture making,” said Prabhu Nidhi Panta, social Development Officer at the society. “The society has launched a project named Pahal to improve economic condition of freed haliyas,” said CB Luhar, chairman of the Society.
