Ministers Stealing NOC Petrol

Issue 01, January 02, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 27, 2010: ministers of officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal have been shamelessly filling up the tanks of their official cars with the petrol from the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) without making payment, myrepublica.com and nepalnews.com write.

Replying to the questions of the members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of legislature-parliament on Sunday, December 26, 2010, Managing Director of NOC Digambar Jha has revealed that NOC has been filling the official cars of the Minister for Commerce and Supplies Rajendra Mahato and his Deputy Minister of State for Commerce and Supplies Saroj Kumar Yadav without charge for their visits to different districts. Thus, these ministers have been stealing the petroleum products from the NOC.

Managing Director of NOC Digambar Jha has been the member of the group of the thieves that have been stealing the petroleum products from the NOC. If officiating Prime Minister Mahdav Nepal has no share in the stealing business of his ministers he will certainly fire them without delay as he has done the Minister of State for Physical Planning and Works on the recommendations of Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Gacchedar.

Minister Mahato has increased the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene recently citing the Ministry of Finance has increased the tax on the petroleum products in the budget for the fiscal year 2010. Thus, the Minister has grabbed the excuse for increasing the prices of petroleum products to steal the money from the pockets of the consumers only to fill up his own pockets and his assistants possibly that of Madhav Nepal, too.
