By KTM Metro Reporter

October 30, 2013: Police have arrested a NC cadre Rambrichha Saha of Oshopur Balakawa VDC on Monday night, October 28, 2013 on the charge of attacking Satrughan Prasad Singh, the central member of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF)-Democratic and the party's candidate at the Siraha Constituency No. 4, according to the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya. Saha is NC Village Unit Committee President of the Oshopur Balakawa VDC, according to the RSS news posted on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

A group led by Saha had attacked Singh and Chandradev Yadav on October 16. District Chairman of the MJF-Democratic Ram Chalitar Mahato said that the attackers also vandalized two vehicles (Ba 8 Cha 1792) and (Ba 3 Cha 8837) used by Singh and cadres for the election campaign.

At another event, the Police arrested Dakendra Limbu: a CPN-Maoist's local leader from Mangalbare of Ilam district yesterday morning for obstructing the election activities in the district, according to the RSS news posted on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

A team of policemen deputed from the Mangalbare Police Post arrested Limbu from his in-law's house at Mangalbare. The CPN-Maoist Ilam District Committee has denounced the arrest, saying Limbu was arrested while on a family visit to his relatives. It described the arrest as extra-judicial. CPN-Maoist district in-charge Kanchha Lama said that the party would strongly retaliate against the high-handed attitude of the administration.

Police, however, said that Limbu was held for questioning. The local leaders of the CPN-Maoist and the Limbuwan Rajya Parishad opposing the CA elections have gone underground after the police started arresting their leaders, the RSS news says.
