By KTM Metro Reporter

August 15, 2012: cadres of Nepal Student Union and Tarundal both associations affiliated to the NC have held a rally at the headquarters of the NC today demanding the Vice-president of the party Ram Chandra Poudel to do something to prove Khum Bahadur Khadka convicted of corruption by the Supreme Court of Nepal yesterday to prove innocent.  The NC has set the record of having the four corrupt leaders. However, its cadres wanted to prove that even their leaders convicted of corruption by the Supreme Court of Nepal innocent indicating how corrupt they themselves were.

NC leaders including Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel had held a meeting in response to the demand of the cadres for proving the convicted leaders innocent. Rather than firing the corrupt leaders, the NC leadership had been for finding out ways and means to prove the convicted leaders innocent thus further blotting the NC.

The Supreme Court of Nepal had convicted Khum Bahadur Khadka of corruption and slapped the penalty of 18-month jail term and of Rs 9.5 millions yesterday. Mr. Khadka could get 20% of the penalty waived if he surrendered to the court within 60 days of the ruling otherwise he would need to serve the full jail term and pay penalty.
