Pursuant to the project agreement, the Chinese state-run company will lay 125 km signal model optical cable with total 36 fibers along the 115 km Kathmandu-Tatopani road that reaches the Tibetan border, Khasa. After the completion of this project, Nepal will be linked with the rest of the world via China. The project will initiate the work in November 2007, and completes it in June 2008.

The Chinese grant assistance to this project has been pursuant to the agreement between China and Nepal reached on Economic and Technical Cooperation in December 2003 and Exchange of Letters between the two governments in August 2004.
