Officials Involved In Forgery Arrested In Nepal

August 24, 2013: Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken in custody 35 officials of Department of Foreign Employment and Department of Immigration for involving in the forgery of the documents that have been used for sending Nepalese workers to work in foreign countries, according to the news ‘ gorkhapatra’ of today.
Making the original files of the documents of 77 people going to work in foreign countries vanish, and using the fake documents provided by the manpower companies, officials of the Department of Foreign Employment have approved to send the 77 youths to work in foreign countries; and officials of the Department of Immigration have not stopped them from going to work in foreign countries based on the fake documents, according to the news.
CIAA has arrested 17 officials of the Department of Employment and 18 officials of the Department of Immigration for sending the Nepalese youths to work in foreign countries based on the fake documents.
The Special Court has added 10 days for keeping the previously arrested 21 officials of the Nepal Electricity Authority and the Department of Immigration in custody for investigation into the irregularities they have committed while on the official duty causing the billions of rupees worth of loss to the nation.
