Prime Minister At University Convocation

Issue 38, September 20, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter In Kathmandu

On September 16, 2009, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has attended Tribhuvan University convocation amid the protest of the Maoist cadres. Despite the strong measures taken by the security causing unbearable troubles to the regular commuters, the Maoist cadres managed to reach the convocation area and show the black flags. The convocation area became the battleground for both the Maoist cadres and the Police.

Obviously, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal was upset very much at the Maoist cadres reaching the area despite the security measures taken by the Police. However, he did not say anything about the protest of the Maoist cadres in his speech. He simply read out his scripted speech and left the arena quietly.
