Celebrating Tamu Losar In Nepal

December 29, 2013: the Gurung community is celebrating the New Year means a Tamu Losar this year on December 30, 2013 with various programs. The community is saying ‘bye’ to the Serpent Year and saying ‘hi’ to the Horse Year.
The Gurung community is celebrating this religious and cultural festival with a variety of cultural programs such as singing, dancing, traditional Gurung sports and others, said Surya Gurung, General Secretary to the celebration committee, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhaaptraoniline.com’. The committee is holding the Tamu Journalism Award distribution, motorcycle rally, seminar and discussion on the festival among others.
A-202-member New Year celebration committee presided over by Tek Bahadur Gurung has been formed to mark the festival in Kathmandu.
