Not Turning Over Weapons To Government

May 28, 2011: Speaking at the event held by the Icchhuk Cultural Pratisthan yesterday to honor Krishna Sen Icchhuk, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the achievements made by the Nepalese people shedding so much blood, and the weapons will not be easily surrendered; and the revolution will never backtrack, ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes.
Krishna Sen Icchhuk was a literary figure and the chief editor of Janadisha newspaper. He died in the police custody in 2002.
At the same platform, Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist Mohan Baidhya ‘Kiran’ has said that his party would preserve the ideals of late Krishna Sen and other martyrs, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes. "The revolution is going on. We will continue to raise our revolutionary flag until we achieve our goals," ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes him.
Speaking at an interaction held by Reporters Club in Kathmandu yesterday, Secretary of UCPN-Maoist CP Gajurel has said that his party would not turn over the arms to the government in exchange for the extension of the term of the CA before building a consensus on the modality of the integration of the Maoist combatants. Following the Comprehensive Peace Agreement the Maoists had reached with the Government of Nepal, the Maoist party is not supposed to turn over the arms to the government without starting the integration process, Secretary Gajurel made it clear, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
