By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
Quickly responding to the Nepalese Prime Minster’s appeal for setting up a field office of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu for expediting the movement of Nepalese vehicles through Indian Territory until the flood damage portion of the East West highway is rehabilitated, the Indian Embassy set up its field office in Biratnagar, Nepal. Nepalese Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav inaugurated it on September 23, 2008. While in his India visit in mid April 2008, the Nepalese Prime Minster requested the Indian Prime Minister to open a field office in the eastern terai for easily providing the Nepalese vehicles with permits for going to other parts of Nepal via Indian territory.
