Issue 08, February 24, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

February 21, 2013: the most successful shutdown of Nepal enforced by the CPN-Maoist-III (Vaidhya) has sacred off the international tourists visiting Nepal. Some of them have already cancelled their reservations for visiting Nepal after watching the complete shutdown of Nepal enforced by the cadres of the Vaidhya Maoists; others have second thought.

International tourists have been afraid of the criminal activities the CPN-Maoist might increase during the fluid political situation in Nepal. The warning of Chairman of CPN-Maoist-III Mohan Vaidhya that he might raise weapons and bloodshed would be the results has seriously scared away the international tourists.

Members of the diplomatic missions in Kathmandu have advised the tourists of their respective country intending to visit Nepal that they should visit Nepal only after making sure that they would enjoy their stay in Nepal. Such a statement is enough for the high value tourists to look for another destination.

Travel agents and their associations have said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation should provide information on safe travel and stay in Nepal, according to ‘gorkhapatra’ news of today.
