Gorkha Brewery evaded Rs 100 millions worth of Tax

Gorkha Brewery of Khetan Group Chaired by Rajendra Khetan evaded about Rs 100 million worth of Value Added Tax (VAT) and Custom duty according to 7:00 A.M. news of the state-run Radio Nepal broadcasted on March 16, 2009. According to the news the Inland Tax Officer Tanka Mani Sharma told the Radio Nepal that the police had seized several trucks carrying the goods of Gorkha Brewery that had evaded the custom duty; the tax officials also found that the brewery company evaded the Value Added Tax, too; so, the inland tax officials have been taking strong actions against the company belonging to the Khetan group.
