Policy On Open Market And Economic Liberalization

September 20, 2011: at the regular meeting with the representatives of the donor agencies, Minister for Finance Barshaman Pun yesterday has said that the government of Nepal will make its economic policy public for creating an environment conducive to attracting investments in industry and business in Nepal, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes. The economic policy will be keeping the market open to all and for liberalizing the economy.
Representatives of the donor agencies sit with the Minister for Finance regularly once every two months for assessing the economic status and the need for financial assistance. At the meeting, they have said to the Minister for Finance that the correct economic and financial policy will make the government of Nepal easy to achieve its economic target.
Minister for Finance Pun has said that the government of Nepal has targeted to limit the inflation to 7 percent and achieve 5 percent economic growth. To this end, the government has started off the monitoring of the market for controlling the illegal trade and business activities.
