Chinese And Japanese Ministers Visiting Nepal

February 24, 2012: Nepalese Minister for Forest and Soil-Conservation Mohammad Wakil Musalman and Minister of the State Forestry Administration of People’s Republic of China Jia Zhibang jointly opened the two-day meeting on forest and soil-conservation in Kathmandu yesterday, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

Speaking at the function, Minister Musalman has said that the conservation of bio-diversity, management of forest and wildlife conservation and information exchanges between the two countries are necessary besides the Chinese support for developing technologies and identifying the areas beneficial to both countries from forest and forest products.

Speaking at the same function, Chinese Minister Jia has said that both countries should be sensitive to ecological balance, and climate change, and to controlling wildlife smuggling; in addition, to protecting national parks, rare animals, and wetland areas.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Koro Bessho met with Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda, President of NC Sushil Koirala, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal and Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha at their respective offices and residences yesterday, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

During the meetings with all the political leaders and the elected officials, Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Bessho has assured each one of them of the Japanese support for the development process of Nepal and suggested each one of them to build a consensus on the peace process and the constitution writing.
