Actions Against Judges Demands NBA

December 4, 2010: The ‘Gorkhapatra’ of Friday, December 03, 2010 has it that the meeting of the Judicial Council held to take actions against the erring justice and judges following the recommendations made in the report on investigation into the kidnapper-freeing case has ended in controversy over whether to take actions or not. Senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal Bala Ram KC has led the high-level inquiry commission to hold the inquiry into the case and submitted a report on it to the Judicial Council.

Justice KC led inquiry commission has recommended actions against Supreme Court Justice Rana Bahadur Bam and appellate court judges Hari Bahadur Basnet and Tej Bahadur Karki stating they lack the capacity of discharging their duties according to the ‘Gorkhapatra’.

The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) on Thursday, December 02, 2010 has demanded the Judicial Council to make the inquiry report submitted by senior Justice of the Supreme Court Bala Ram KC public and to enforce it to keep the judiciary clean, ‘The Himalayan Times’ online on December 02 writes.
