On March 15, 2009, speaking to the commanders of the People Liberation Army (PLA) at a training program in Kathmandu, Prime Minister Prachanda urged the PLA commanders to follow the order of the Supreme Court of Nepal concerning the new recruitments, and also told them that the PLA would be integrated into the Nepal Army in groups not in an individual basis.
On March 15, 2009, President of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala returned to Nepal from India after having the health checkups there, and meeting with several Indian opposition and ruling party leaders there. Upon return he told reporters that he had no intention of tearing down the current government, and no need for asking foreigners for help for resolving the Nepalese problems. His daughter Sujata Koirala and he had left Nepal for India on March 11, 2009.
On March 15, 2009, Nepalese Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav met with his counterpart in Doha, Qatar. After the meeting quoting the Qatar foreing Minister he told the reporters that the Qatar Government has no plan to cut the number of Nepalis coming to work in Qatar, as the world economic meltdown has not touched Qatar.
On March 15, 2009, the local administration distributed Rs 50,000 to each family displaced by the Koshi floods this year. The local administration had already distributed this amount of money to 200 families that wanted to return to their home and settle. The Nepal-India Koshi embankment repair team told the reporters that the repair of the Koshi embankment damaged by the flood would be completed in June 2009.
