A Crowd Of 400 Climbers Reached Mt Everest

KTM Metro

Kathmandu, May 25, 2016: in this climbing season, 400 climbers have reached the top of the highest peak of Mt Everest up until May 25, 2016, according to the Nepalese State news agency RSS. This success has been not without the cost of human lives. Three Indian climbers have lost their lives, as they slipped and fell down to death while returning from the summit. Some returnees are still missing. Of them one Australian, one Dutch and another Nepali found dead. Others’ fate is not known, yet. Possibility of finding them alive is slim.

The previous two years: 2014 and 2015 had been the disastrous years for climbers and their pathfinders rather path builders called Icefall doctors. More than a dozen Sherpa path builders had lost their lives when the furious avalanche swept them away causing to end the expedition for the year. In 2015 the long awaited quakes struck the central Nepal and shook even the mighty Mt Everest causing it to shed the snow that had taken the lives of a number of climbers again postponing the climbing expedition.

The technology development has made many climbers including Nepalese to successfully scale the highest peak in the world. However, climbing goes not without the sacrifice of the human lives. Even such cutting-edge technology, some climbers continue to lose their lives either because of their negligence or mistakes or because of the mighty Everest wants to show that it is not so easy to reach the peak and return safely back to the base camp.
