Politicians Meet With President

Issue 49, December 6, 2009

BY KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On December 1, 2009, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal met with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at presidential residence in Kathmandu to brief the President on the current political situation and to find out an outlet to break the current deadlock. The President has been concerned with the current political deadlock very much.

On November 30, 2009, Deputy chairman of UCPN-Maoist Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’ met with the President and brief the President on the current political situation, and informed the President about the declaration of the autonomous states by his party is symbolic and only for publicity.

UCPN-Maoist Chairman Prachanda and his Deputy ‘Prakash’ met with the President a few days ago and had talked with the President about the current political situation in Nepal.

While talking to the political leaders, the President has shown his concern for the current political deadlock and urged all the political leaders for working on the consensus politics and to break the current political deadlock, and complete the writing of a new constitution on time. The President has been eager to help the politicians in breaking the current political deadlock.

However, the President is solely responsible for the current political deadlock. So, if the President is sincere to end the political deadlock, he needs to resign and pave the way for discussing his unconstitutional move on directly writing a letter to the army chief at the legislature.
