November 26, 2010: Around 5,500 state-level cadres have been participating in the sixth plenum of the UCPN-Maoist at Palungatar of the Gorkha district. On November 25, 2010, they have formed 30 different groups and then they choose three group speakers from among them for each group to represent in commenting on the three separate papers presented by Chairman Prachanda, and Deputy Chairmen Mohan Vaidya Kiran and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai to the plenum. Any group can also have a fourth person to present different views other than commenting on the three documents if any one of the groups wants.
Commenting on the three documents separately, at least 47 group leaders representing 20 groups have spoken during the closed session on Thursday, November 25, 2010: the fifth day of the plenum. Majority of the commentators has supported the idea of the party’s main contradiction means the foe has been one with the domestic reactionaries and expansionist Indian rulers coming together. They have also said that the political development during the last two years has amply shown that the reactionaries will not make a pro-people constitution. Therefore, the party should prepare for the people’s revolt to face the negative development, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 26, 2010 writes.
Majority of around 20 commentators representing the seven divisions of the Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has supported the tactical line proposed by Chairman Prachanda and has said that the party should make maximum effort on completing the peace process and constitution writing and prepare for a revolt in case the reactionaries obstruct both the processes.
