Inept CPN-UML Leader

Issue 41, October 14, 2007

By KTM Metro Reporter

On October 06, 2007, the CPN-UML demonstrated its desperate position reprimanding the NC and the CPN-Maoist for deferring the election for a constituent assembly (CA) forgetting its General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal signed off the press release of the seven-party alliance for postponing the election for a CA. General Secretary Nepal thinks that he has done his duty simply putting a note of dissent on the press release as he usually did to some documents in the past too.

Some of the central committee members of the CPN-UML demanded the resignation of the Interim Prime Minister stating that the Prime Minister was unable to hold the election for a CA as scheduled. However, they would have been better off if they had forced their impotent General Secretary Nepal to resign, as he has been the most incapable leader of one of the major political parties in Nepal. He made Koirala the Prime Minister in April 2006 using the mandate given by the people anticipating that his party would receive the portfolio of one of the major ministries such as home or defense but ended up receiving the portfolio of ministry of foreign affairs.

If General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal would have been a morally strong person, he would have tender his resignation and apologizes to the Nepalese people for making five-term failed Prime Minister Koirala a sixth term Prime Minister, and for bringing the country to the current situation of the political deadlock exposing to the probability of the regressive forces taking back the power.
