US Envoy Assures Home Minister Of Support For Security

August 19, 2010: in the presence of Secretary to Home Ministry Dr. Govinda Prasad Kusum and US Ambassador to Nepal Scott H DeLisi, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States for South and Central Asian Affairs Atul Keshap has met with Home Minister Bhim Rawal at his office on Wednesday, August 18, 2010; Home Minister Rawal has appreciated the US support for the peace process and constitution writing, Minister Rawal thanked the US government for providing Nepal with such assistance and the assistance for developing the leadership of authorities working on terrorism control, disaster management and law enforcement in Nepal, and has hoped for the continuation of the US support in the coming days; Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary Keshap has shown the concerns for the current political situation and the law and order situation in Nepal; Keshap has said to the Home Minister that the US government has given high priority to control the human trafficking and cross-border crimes along the common border between Nepal and India; Keshap has assured the Home Minister of the continuation of the US support for the security and reduction of natural disaster risks in Nepal, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of August 19, 2010 reports.
