No Alternative To A New Consensus
By KTM Metro Reporter
May 17, 2013: Speaking at an event held by the Reporter’s Club Nepal, Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur yesterday, Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya ‘Kiran’ said that a new consensus should be forged, as the past agreements had been no more relevant, according to ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’. He also said that the failure of the four political parties had clearly indicated the need for a new consensus.
“There is no alternative but to seek (an) all-party consensus for ending the ongoing political crisis,” said Vaidhya, reiterating that his party would not take part in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election until their demands were met.
Meanwhile in Jhapa, party vice-chairman CP Gajurel hinted at the possibility of his party taking part in the upcoming CA polls if the government and the four political parties were ready to discuss the agenda of the CPN-Maoist.
Gajurel was in the district to inaugurate a party’s event in Urlabari. He said that the government should show its commitment to discuss the CPN-Maoist’s agenda for the next round of talks. He stated that his party was not against the CA elections; he however said that the CPN-Maoist wanted a promulgation of a constitution as aspired by the people.
