Issue 04, Janaury 25, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On January 20, 2009, the reporter of ‘The Himalayan Times’ reporting from Siraha said that the feud for property might be the main reason for the Uma Singh’s murder. The mother of Uma Singh told the investigators that the two persons involved in killing Uma had been after her property and had threatened to kill her, too in the past if she did not register her property in the name of her daughter-in-law, as they were very close to her and they frequented her. Her daughter-in-law even had beaten her when she refused to comply with the demand for registering her property in her name. Her daughter-in-law had been staying apart in a rented house after her husband and son mysteriously disappeared a few years ago.
